Chemistry works in such a way that in a given mixture or solution, when another element is introduced, effects vary. Everything you factor in ultimately affects the outcome.
You can however, predict or make scientific guesses based on the qualities of the chemicals being mixed. Based on factual data, and a few calculations, you can come up with a near-hit or near-miss hypothesis. Which is why chemistry is a science, and that there are numerous resources regarding the subject. How easy it would be if life were like chemistry.
Well, life is a bit like chemistry, but to a certain point. You can hypothesize about life but would probably end up with, what, say a 10%-20% chance that you are correct. Which is why you can never take life for granted. Live your life, do your best. Watch out for traps along the way that can leave you dead and lifeless (in every sense of course!)
Choose the company you spend time with, stay away from people who are mostly negative. They will suck you in and drain you dry. It is quoted in the bible, "above all, protect your heart, for it is the wellspring of all life." I believe that.
As much as chemistry is complicated, so is life. But unlike chemistry, life has no absolutes. No exact measurements, no boiling or reaction times. Life can and will kick your ass if it has to. You can bet on it.
So go on, take a bite of that unfamiliar dish. Sing aloud. Smile at that person next to you. Dance. Live.
Most importantly, love, even if it kills you.
